Daniel Ruscoe is a registered healthcare professional with over 15 years’ experience across health, social care and the charity sector. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of the CFDN.
Daniel holds a Doctorate in Business Administration, a Foundation Degree in Paramedic Science and a Diploma in Teaching Skills for Educators. He is a trained Independent Advocate under the Care Act 2014, with practical experience supporting disabled people, families and volunteers to understand their rights, navigate services and influence decisions that affect their lives. He is also a registered Paramedic with the Health & Care Professions Council, bringing strong clinical insight into safeguarding, risk, duty of care and regulatory standards.
Across his career, Daniel has designed and delivered training for staff, volunteers and trustees within NHS services, regulated care environments and voluntary organisations. His approach to teaching is practical, inclusive and rooted in real-world scenarios, ensuring learning is relevant, accessible and directly applicable to frontline practice.
All CFDN courses are grounded in Health and Social Care practice and the realities of the charity sector, drawing on Daniel’s direct experience of leadership, advocacy, serious incident investigation, governance reform and community-based service delivery. His training style balances professional standards with compassion, lived experience and a clear understanding of the challenges faced by disabled people and those who support them.
