I'm a Volunteer, why do you ask for so much information?

Updated: Apr 29, 2024

Hi everyone and welcome to the post. Over recent months we've received many questions asking why we need so much information from our volunteers so Dan has put together a bulletin that breaks down exactly why we ask for certain information.

Although many of you are volunteers, there is certain legislation that applies to volunteers as it does employees. Furthermore as a charity we have to ensure that we comply with the charities commission regulations and any additional regulators, such as the fundraising regulator.

Lastly, we are also required to complete much of this information in order to comply with our insurance companies and most importantly, keep our members safe, whilst their families being in the knowledge that we have carried our the necessary checks.

We understand that sometimes some of this is difficult for those who do not access online facilities and that is why we have made sure all forms that are required are in paper format and all of our training is also available in a booklet format. There is plenty of assistance and help, to get you compliance working with the charity so please do not hesitate to reach out to either your committees or Dan for further assistance.

To read more about these requirements, please see the bulletin attached below.

As always, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our charity. None of our achievements would be possible without the amazing work, hours, and commitment that you will provide to our members.
